Concept
Caphe Coffee, a brand identity concept envisioned by our Creative Director, Eko Widarto, aims to support new entrepreneurs in the Food & Beverage industry by providing a recognizable and distinctive presence for their target audience.
Challenge:
The coffee industry is currently experiencing intense competition, with both new and established entrepreneurs expressing a heightened interest in this sector. This trend is not surprising, given that the coffee business has become a lifestyle choice, particularly for Gen Z and millennials. Consequently, it is crucial to not only offer quality coffee and exceptional service but also to establish a brand identity capable of effectively communicating the unique values of your coffee business to potential customers. This identity should be easily recognizable and resonate with consumers.
Solution:
To address this challenge, we crafted a brand name that is simple, concise, and easy to remember – CAPHE, which translates to coffee in Vietnamese. For the visual identity, we opted for a word mark as the Caphe logo, avoiding unnecessary symbols to maintain clarity. The Opposit font was selected for Caphe, known for its distinctive bold and thin strokes.
In packaging design, we diverged from the conventional coffee packaging approach. Instead of featuring a generic coffee-related illustration, such as coffee beans, we introduced an illustration of gestures symbolizing satisfaction in enjoying coffee. This not only serves as an identity and design element on the packaging but also becomes an iconic symbol associated with the brand. It is unconventional, unique, and visually striking.
